The KEY to your SUCCESS
ADHERANCE
Definition: Commitment to a cause
“The hardest part is getting to the gym”
As we approach the end of Winter it just seems like things are getting harder and our bodies have less energy. People are getting sick, tired and ultimately missing their gym sessions!
There are so many articles written about periodisation, structuring of programs and the Coaches pedigree. One factor that in our opinion is vastly overlooked is that of adherence. Its definition is simply to commit to the cause. Without adherence in your programming, the scheduling, specificity and scientific nature of the program is useless.
Missing sessions is the biggest killer of results imaginable. They go hand in hand; a “I can’t be bothered today” followed by a “I ran out of time” and then finally the “I’m not getting anywhere”. Seen it all before. This leads to a lack of motivation because results aren’t coming, and a soon-to-be throw in of the towel. The effects of missing sessions cannot be understated.
Tips to increase your Adherance:
- Set a tangible goal if you havn’t already – be specific! Write it down. Tell someone about it.
- Ask a friend to join you at the gym
- Sign up with a Personal Trainer for a few sessions
Use this as a bit of motivation for sticking to your Fitness, and Life goals!
Summer is just around the corner, there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Don’t miss your training this week, in fact – go hard this week.
Adhere.
